Religion Discriminates. Spirituality Does Not Discriminate!
Houston, Texas, March 11, 2019 — Business and spiritual author Ravi Kathuria makes a provocative point in his book, “Happy Soul. Hungry Mind.” It forces us to take a fresh look at religion and appreciate the distinction between religion and spirituality.
For thousands of years, religious leaders have discriminated against people based on gender, sexuality, status, wealth and moral judgement. Religious sermons and ceremonies often reflect these deep-rooted views.
In his book, Ravi declares, “Religion Discriminates. Spirituality Does Not Discriminate!” He challenges the reader to understand and appreciate the difference between religion and spirituality. “I will never see religion in the same light after reading this book,” said BJ Farmer, CEO of an IT services firm.
Ravi shares a definition and description of spirituality that is stunningly simple and inclusive. It is practical without any mysticism. Ravi asserts, every one of the seven billion people on Earth have equal access to spirituality. No exceptions. No preconditions.
Ravi’s views on spirituality and its inclusiveness are so powerful they could become the foundation for uniting the entire human population regardless of their religious affiliations. The message is not based on faith or doctrines. Theists and atheists are equally included in Ravi’s spiritual umbrella.
The message of spiritual unity has the power to change the course of human history. Says Ravi, “We are not Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Jews, Budhists, and so on. We all are spiritual beings, and we are spiritual from the time we are born. No one can make us spiritual and no one can take spirituality out of us. Just as we are human, so are we spiritual.”

Quoted by the Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, WorldNews, NPR, featured on PBS Nightly Business Report, CBS Radio, and TEDx, Ravi Kathuria is a business and spiritual author. A business thought leader, he is the founder of the Houston Strategy Forum and Cohegic, a consulting and executive coaching firm.
While Ravi has been drawn to spirituality since he was young, he is now metamorphosing to make spirituality the main focus of his life. Ravi has applied his skills to solve the complexity and confusion of spirituality. Free from religious doctrines, his modern-day parable, “Happy Soul. Hungry Mind.” is a work of spiritual genius.
“Happy Soul. Hungry Mind.” is a parable on practical spirituality. It is the story of two colleagues who are facing serious challenges in life. Ironically, the story is based in Las Vegas, the bastion of consumerism and indulgence.
