Religion is an enterprise. Every successful enterprise needs funds, connections, and influence to survive and thrive.
It is no surprise, in its quest for funds and influence, religion has courted the rich, famous and powerful. And, the rich and powerful have courted religion to strengthen their position. Kings have declared themselves to be God, if not, God-incarnates. Even modern politicians claim it is God who wished their political success.
As a result of the nexus, religion has discriminated between the rich and the poor. The rich have received special access and privileges.
Spirituality does not discriminate.
Rich or poor, makes no difference to spirituality. It is available to all with equal access. Billionaire or bankrupt, spirituality embraces both in its arms!
